Corporate Blogging Insights From C-Suite

Interesting on Corporate blogging. There is a chart on why some organizations go into blogging and the comment, "If you can't beat'em, join'em" is part of what you see.

My question is; "Do they get it?" I am not sure.

Gaining customers is a great idea through becoming an authority within the industry works. Keeping customers and employees informed is a GREAT one. Employees will hold your feet to the fire and in today's age of transparency that is a good thing.

I will keep saying it, blogging (Twitter, Facebook, et al) is nothing but a conversation with your public and your friends.

Sales has always been about buying from friends. You need to create that rapport. You buy from people you believe in, people you trust, people you feel you know. Do you call them friends? Not necessarily however the demands are about the same.

You have to use these tools to show who you are as well as how you can help. You have to open that conversation not spiel.
